I have over 40 years of continuous advancement as a child advocate in both the government and nonprofit charitable sector. I served for 6 years in the state legislature. Prior to that I had 26 years of experience which include the following: developing and monitoring budgets; managing contracts; developing strategic plans; utilizing techniques of process re-engineering, metrics development; and development of values outcomes models. I possess a keen understanding of the roles of state and local government, private for-profit and the nonprofit charitable sectors and how collaboration and integration can foster large-scale system reform. After leaving the state legislature because of term limits, I was appointed by Governor Rick Snyder to a Deputy Director position with the Michigan Department of Human Services. In 2012 I founded Human Service Solutions, LLC and have provided management consulting services to a number of non profit organizations.
