Ovalis is an in-line managed service provider. Essentially we sit with our client’s staff and act as their staff members while managing there IT infrastructure and services. My roles vary greatly between clients, from desktop support to multinational infrastructure administrator, project manager and IT manager.Some of my day to day responsibilities are:• Ensuring server and services are operational, backups, websites, data centres and internet links.• Providing remote/On-site support for clientso Desktop support Printer, PC, Email and general support. Assisting clients in making meaningful and justified business decisions on their IT spend and support, and providing best advice to make the decision.o Infrastructure support Linux, Unix, Windows support. SonicWALL/Halon router and Amazon Web Services (AWS) VPC deployment and maintenance.  Exchange and Office 365 (as well as Hybrid) deployment and maintenance. Deploying new servers to ESXi, Hyper-V or AWS sites. Deploying new physical servers remotely. Website setup/maintenance Deploying Code and validating deployment documentation Server break fix (restore of servers via backup agents) Investigating and resolving security breaches. Project management (data centre migrations, office moves, company migrations and range of small to large projects) PowerShell, PHP, C# deployment and review. I am not a programmer but I understand enough to make meaningful comments to people who are. MSSQL and MYSQL high degree of general knowledge. Able to review, and pull data out of databases as well as provide assistance to resolve poor design work.o Management support Providing quotes, ordering and renewing services. Providing cost saving recommendations if any found in business systems. Research and development of new systems which may short cut some business processes and time. Provide guidance on any improvements in IT systems that would ultimately improve business output/performance.

Various Locations.

During this period, I was backpacking around the world, I travelled to most parts of Asia, Mexico, USA, and Europe. I met my now wife in Vietnam and lived in Vietnam for about 1 year. I had intended to return to Parsons Brinckerhoff after 1 year leave without pay, however life lead me on a different path (for the better!). It was some of the best time in my life and I have many stories (good and bad).During this time:• Scuba dive in Taiwan, Mexico, Cambodia. Got my Advanced open water license in Mexico.• Rode motorbike solo for 3 months around Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Cambodia.• Rode motorbike solo around Mexico• Rode Goldwing with dad across USA (Detroit to LA)• Backpacked Germany, Italy and Scandinavia. • Spent 1 year in Vietnam learning culture and language. Volunteer my time to a not for profit developing their online presence and setting up their office with working IT equipment.
