Portraying the role of Santa Claus - Maintaining the magic of Christmas for both young and old and in some cases, restoring the belief of Santa in youngsters who aren't quite sure if they 'believe' anymore... I started out in a friend's grotto in Bracknell in 2015. It was a wonderful little set up at the Wilde Theatre and I found I took to it like a reindeer does to flying! I loved everything about it! I returned the following year. In 2017 I joined an agency that specifically deals in the business of supplying Santas! With them, I began visiting private homes, Christmas parties, golf clubs and corporate events etc.After a fulfilling 2 years with them, I decided I wanted to find my own seasonal work. This meant investing in a high end tailor-made Santa suit and a top quality wig and beard set.I often get many comments on how amazing my overall look is, accompanied by how good my performance is and how genuine I am as Santa, which is something I'm very proud of.During lockdown, unable to see any children in the same room, I took to setting up video calls from my home. These were highly successful and a number of clients requested I do it again the following year.I made sure I had a brilliant  'Santa's Workshop' backdrop, a good quality microphone and I lit the space (my living room) with lamps from around the house. Leading Workshops for primary age school children, in which we taught History through drama. A range of periods were covered including Tudors, Vikings, Egyptians, Ancient Greeks, Romans, WW2 Evacuees and Pre-History. We would rehearse amd research the subject matter under the watchful eye of the company director and then take each one in to a school as and when required accompanied by a box of props for each workshop.
