Philanthropy Australia’s purpose is to foster a generous and inclusive Australia by inspiring more and better philanthropy. We are the national peak body for philanthropy. We provide advocacy, networking, services and resources to the philanthropic and not-for-profit sector, as well as information and research for the Australian community.I support Queensland and Northern Territory members (trusts, corporate foundations, families, professional advisors, and not-for-profit organisations) with their philanthropic endeavours.

The Lady Musgrave Trust is Queensland's oldest charity, and is dedicated to supporting homeless and vulnerable women by providing safe places to live, support, awareness and sector advocacy.In this temporary position, I developed The Lady Musgrave Trust's policy framework and documentation. It was a really rewarding experience and provided me with a deeper insight into the charity sector and prevalent issues facing Queensland women.

In 2018, I spent the year driving around Europe in a motorhome. It was a fantastic adventure that allowed me to challenge myself, grow as a person and learn about other cultures. While travelling I kept up my professional skills by doing some consulting, as well as research and reading.

At CFA Institute, the global membership body for Chartered Financial Analysts, I implemented compelling communications, PR and social media strategies for the organisation and EMEA CEO. I also provided external engagement consulting and training for CFA Societies. In just 2 years I improved our client satisfaction score by almost 20%.While at CFA Institute, I led the organisation through the development of global (and localized) social media strategies and spoke at several events on Digital Marketing. Additionally, I delivered social media training to staff globally and was called-upon by many peers and executive level staff for assistance as the expert in social media.Change management was a significant part of this role. I provided guidance to member firms globally through a brand refresh and amalgamation program.I developed an internal communications strategy which streamlined communications and enabled staff to improve their online influence and advocate through their own networks. Working with key spokespeople and our public relations agency to raise the public profile of the organisation through press and stakeholder relationships.I also played an active role in the volunteer corporate social responsibility team by project managing several community volunteering and giving activities for the full London office team.

In this managerial position, I was privileged to manage an excellent team looking after the marketing, communications, sponsorship and public relations for Engineers Australia's Queensland operations.I was personally responsible for establishing the State Manager and CEO's media and social media presence, as well as managing their internal communications strategies and increasing their profiles with staff. I developed a great amount of experience in crisis management, government and media relations while in this role. I developed strong relationships with government contacts, as well as journalists, and increased the media coverage of Engineers Australia ten-fold.Another significant achievement was increasing doubling the sponsorship portfolio of the membership organisation, allowing us to expand the Queensland strategy and achieve great things for our members.

As Communications and Events Coordinator I was responsible for digital communications to over 100,000 members and organising high-quality events. While in this role I was given the responsibility of managing some very prominent events and also digitising our member communications. In addition, I managed the corporate awards programme and sponsor relationships.
