Since 2001, I am permanent member of the LAGEP that was created in 1988. The LAGEP aims todevelop a pluridisciplinary research in automatic control, chemical engineering andpharmacotechnic. The LAGEP aims todevelop a pluridisciplinary research in automatic control, chemical engineering andpharmacotechnic. There are 46 permanent research members and 40 PhD students or postdoctoral fellows, and some master students. Theoretical and applied researches are developedin: solid processing, heat and mass transfer, first principle modeling, control and diagnosis. Theresearch is both academic and linked to industrial partners.In the LAGEP, I am in the research team headed by the Professor Hassan Hammouri:« Nonlinear systems and processes ». There are 10 permanent research members and 5 PhDstudents or Post doctoral fellows, and some master students. The research of this group dealswith theoretical and numerical aspects in process control (nonlinear control) and observer design(as soft-sensor), for continuous systems described by ordinary differential equations and/orpartial differential equations. Projets are often taking place in partnership with other laboratoryand/or industrial companies based on real cases.My research interests are in the developments of theoretical control tools (especially modelpredictive control) and in the development of software, both dealing with real applications inchemical engineering, for example in the field of: drying, thermal processes, catalytic reactions,polymerization reactor. I am particularly interested in the model based predictive control ofpartial differential equation based systems and in optimal design of experiment foridentification.Since 2007, I am using and developing my own predictive control software named MPC@CB (seehttp://MPC-AT-CB.univ-lyon1.fr/ for more details and how to use it for your problem).
