Managing a team of 20+ people responsible for:● Core Data Platform – using cloud based technologies to acquire, integrate and structure data to drive business insights throughout the enterprise. Technologies used in our platform to support multiple business needs include Hadoop running on Google GCE, Google Dataproc, PostgresXL (open source MPP), Elastic Search, Google BigTable and Google BigQuery.● Core Dataset – partnering with business teams to develop structured analytic datasets for Marketing, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Customer Service and Finance. ● Core Data API’s – building APIs to integrate conformed data with internal and external facing applications being built by technology teams to support the business.● Real-time Analytics Platform (RTAP) – providing a platform for a set of real-time services including data collection, data access, data processing through Real-time Bidding/Decision Engine and real-time decision portal and dashboards.● Acquisition Marketing Platform – supporting a marketing platform which enables the ability to create, manage, target and publish ads to various channels.

BI and Big Data Analytics is responsible for acquiring, processing and delivering data used to drive business analytics throughout zulily.● Managed the build out of a centralized data platform in the cloud using Google Cloud Storage, Google Compute Engine, hadoop (Hortonworks HDP) and BigQuery. The data platform consolidates 100s of TBs of structured and unstructured data in a flexible, scalable and accessible platform that drives business innovation.● Hired, built and managed a team of 8 data engineers responsible for delivering data solutions used to drive analytics, insight and innovation across the enterprise. Areas of focus included customer analytics, email analytics, clickstream, supply chain management, merchandising, customer service and financial reporting.● Developed strong relationships between business and technology teams to ensure systems are built with consideration for business analytics. Strong ability to balance the needs of business and technology teams to reach consensus and deliver results.● Led the selection of a Business Intelligence and Analytics platform for zulily. Managed all aspects of the process from vendor evaluation, enterprise and executive buy-in and implementation● Successfully led project intake and prioritization for data solutions across multiple business areas simultaneously including Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance and Merchandising.
