He is a Grassroots Environmental Educator, Consultant, and Activist with 14 years of experience serving as Founder/Executive Director of The Greens, and a Geology Teacher with 14 years of experience working at Government High School Kedjom-Keku. Coordinator Of Necobahif And Project Coordinator Of The Kedjom-Keku Community Forest ProjectNetwork For The Conservation Of The Bamenda Highlands Forests (Necobahif) Jun 2015 - Sep 2024Bamenda, CameroonThe Kedjom-Keku Community Forest Project is a project of the Network for the Conservation of the Bamenda Highlands Forests (NeCoBaHiF) comprised of three organizations; Kedjom-Keku CASUD, La Liberte Arts Group, and my organization, The Greens. Besides being the Coordinator of the Network, I am also the Project Coordinator of the Project that is my biggest conservation achievement. I conceived the project that acquired 1000 hectares of Afromontane forest via leasing and created the Kedjom-Keku Community Forest that is being conserved as a business that generates revenue, provides forest ecosystem services, and employment opportunities to the people of Kedjom-Keku. As Project Coordinator, some of my key responsibilities are to;- Manage the Kedjom-Keku Community Forest in a way that ensures the conservation and sustainable use of nature alongside the social, environmental, cultural, and even economic benefits.- Provide advice and capacity-building workshops to forest-adjacent owners on maintenance and care for trees.- Recruit and train members of the community in Tree Nursery Design, Construction, and Management, and Water Catchment Protection for them to be in charge of water catchment protection- Recruit and train members of the Community in bee farming to be in charge of Apiculture in the forest- Arrange for contract work (e.g. tree planting, harvesting and seed collection) to be undertaken.- Carry out general maintenance work like fencing and fire tracing around the forest- Plan, manage budgets, and lead conservation projects.- Providing valuations on timber, trees, and land.- Liaise with forest-adjacent owners, timber merchants, contractors, customers, and the general public.- Organize the Kedjom-Keku Environmental Day, a day aimed at celebrating the beauty and value of nature in Kedjom-Keku- Sustainably harvest and market non-timber forest productsOrganize hikes, research, and ecotouristic trips to the forest.
