"Wherever the art of medicine is loved, there is also a love for humanity." - HippocratesI am on a journey to becoming a Physician Assistant. Four years ago, at the start of the pandemic, I took the first tentative step towards my dream of learning medicine. It was not easy finding classes during the lockdown, but I was able to get certified as an Emergency Medical Technician and would spend the next two years volunteering my time with the Morris Minute Men First Aid Squad. My time with the organization confirmed my desire to learn and understand more - more about the human body, more about diseases but most importantly to have a better understanding of how to heal. In the years since, I have gone back to Rutgers University and am working on completing my Bachelors in Public Health. I got certified in Phlebotomy and EKG, and began working at Jersey City Medical Center as a Patient Care Technician. My time in the hospital has only continued to fan the flames of my desire to pursue medicine- it is some of the most fulfilling work I have ever done, even if it is also the most exhausting. I firmly believe that education is key to a better life and a better society, and so thanks to the referral of a friend I began teaching BLS courses and helping people from all backgrounds get their certifications in lifesaving techniques such as CPR/AED and first aid administration. I keep myself busy between work and school, but I am determined to get into PA school and one day serve my community as a Physician Assistant. Welcome to my page and thank you for reading this far.
