Data and Systems Manager at one of the UK's leading Archeological OrganisationsITIL certified, with extensive experience in data and systems administration and management. My role entails managing data flow, generation, and processing, as well as being responsible for the systems in place to capture and utilise that data, ensuring the organisation's data strategy and governance is fit for purpose and being utilised, and, of course, leading the team who make that all happen.I have more than a decade of IT and data experience behind me, running my own IT Business as a Consultant, before being picked up by a world leader in Hi-Fi, and moving from there to the world's largest provider of managed pet plans.Throughout my career I've had stints in backend roles, customer facing roles, and as an advocate in the boardroom for IT as an integrated business practice - not a forgotten department you call when there's a problem.In all this I've made heavy use of scripting, automation, and system management and querying tools such as Powershell and SQL daily. Historically my weapons of choice have been tools such as the Kace SMA, SDA and Kace Cloud MDM, Dell Switching and SAN management, Ruckus WiFi systems, and VMWare Virtual environments, amongst the innumerable systems knowledge I've ended up collecting along the way.On a personal level I recognise and encourage an individual's core abilities over their learned ones, and have an interest in applying DevOps and ITIL principles where I can, pushing what can be done with the resources available to my team, and having fun and being the change we want to see whilst we do it.Oh, and no ties.
