Running a busy warehouse which supplied materials to Sonangol PP Block 2 offshore Angola. Carried out cyclic counting checks, annual inventories, material preservation, inventory management (checking materials for duplications, updating short text and PO text, standardising part number formats to match manufacturers list and vendors SPILS).

In charge of overseeing the entrance and exit of all materials which came into Sonangol PP Bases. This included being involved with customs procedures and any other company specific procedures. Also in control of all appliances used for the transfer of materials to offshore/onshore locations. Ensured all materials were properly sea fastened inside containers to avoid damage to materials/personnel. Prepared daily, weekly and monthly reports on all movements. Heavily involved with the manifesting side of the operation also.

Responsibilities included receiving and issuing materials to platform staff, stock checking (weekly, monthly, annual). Completed all manifests for every department on the platform, drilling, operations, construction etc including the preparation of documentation required for any hazardous waste disposal onshore. Prepared all necessary paperwork for export of materials being sent for repair. Also monitored this type of issue on the Panalpina tracking website to enable me to advise the relevant departments of any progress.

Brent Alpha

Responsibilities included being in control of all the Services departments - cranes, vessels, platform stores, deck crew, catering crew, etc. As an asset holder for certain areas I was also involved in the authorisation of permits for work being carried out in any of my areas. Held safety meetings weekly with all members of the team and promoted the use of the STOP card system.

Brent Charlie

Responsibilities included the receipt and issue of all materials within the platform stores, tool issue and maintenance, issue of safety equipment including lifevests/harnesses/inertia reels etc, all of which were thoroughly inspected on return. Entered all information regarding receipts and issues into SAP. Also compiled lists of materials, in SAP manifesting module, being loaded into containers for their eventual transfer to the vessel and then to Aberdeen.

Brent Charlie

Responsibilities included the receipt and despatch of all telex messages from the installation, all radio communications to and from the platform, including those from aircraft, came through the radio room. Heavily involved during the many exercises which were carried out to ensure all the platform staff knew their duties in cases of emergency. Kept close contact with the standby vessels, especially during times of emergencies/severe weather.

Deep Sea

Responsibilities were mainly down to HSE duties, ensuring that all messages regarding the safe operation of the vessels were received correctly and passed to the the Captain. Depending on the vessels location in the world, it was imperitive to constantly check the prevailing weather conditions and report as necessary to the navigating officers. I was responsible for the maintenance of all my equipment and ordered spares as required to carry out this duty.
