Offering a full service from design to delivery leveraging the benefits of our global reach utilising offices in Europe, USA and the Far East.Working closely with the CEO/owner, my responsibilities included:• Definition & execution of a strategic 5-year plan, outlining a clear forecasting and budgeting cycle• Full remit for the production of monthly group management accounts across 4 countries globally• Produced and coordinated the complete restructuring of legacy company policies and procedures• Leadership, management and motivation of a finance departmental team of 4 FTEs and resources• Delivered a companywide S.W.O.T analysis, identifying priorities and focus of management team• Implemented pricing models and controls in line with business objectives and gross margin targets• Managed the groups’ accounting policies in accordance with best practice accounting standards• Led the creation of a sales commission structure across all companies, aligned with business goals• Worked closely with the HK fulfilment subsidiary to ensure efficient stock management and control• Management of the SAP Business One project steering committee, planning successful delivery

European Holding Company involved in Management Services, Property, Manufacturing & Retail.Financial responsibilities include:• Preparing the financial strategy of the group, providing clear and concise recommendations to the stakeholders.• Managing the timely flow of all financial information from group companies, ensuring high levels of accuracy and discipline.• Responsible for ensuring that all financial controls across the group are consistent, robust and adhered to.• Advising on all accounting policies and treatments as appropriate. Ensuring that all local accounting standards are adhered to.• Overseeing the budgeting process and on-going management of the budgeting throughout the year.• Ensuring that cost management processes are in place across each group company to drive efficiency and increase profitability. • Overseeing the implementation of 1C:Enterprise (enterprise resource planning software).Commercial responsibilities include:• Input to the business strategy and long term planning process. Particularly with regards key decision making for investments and project proposals.• Client facing responsibilities - building and managing the relationship with key clients. In particular IKEA (manufacturing) and Hachette (publishing), including all negotiations on contracts, pricing and business development.• Introduction of the Kaizen principle of continuous improvement to the group. This philosophy was applied to all aspects of the business, including the administration and accounting functions.• Ensuring efficient systems are in place for purchasing/stock control of higher value materials.

Key Responsibilities included:• Joined the business at its inception, developed finance team, procedures and controls from scratch• Management of Finance, Administration and IT teams• Control of the budgeting and subsequent forecast updates for the group. Working closely with the MD in balancing profitability with funding requirements• Working with internal departments (marketing, production and editorial) to create cost/benefit reports to determine the financial feasibility of new titles• Treasury operations. Including cash flow forecasting in foreign currencies and putting in place hedging if necessary• System implementations, from introducing SAP Business One to overseeing the development of a company intranet• Creation of robust and consistent financial controls, accounting policies and procedures.• Preparing joint venture agreements with competitors for the exploitation of products in various overseas markets• Established subsidiary company in the U.S. to publish a branded magazine. Role including negotiating with the news trade distributor, the ad sales agency and establishing a reporting system for direct mail subscriptions• Managing Director of Bulgarian subsidiary• Established a Hungarian branch and assumed role of Branch Representative responsible for all legal and financial aspects of the branch. Created a fully functioning publishing unit and conducted the first partwork launch within 3 months• Setting up reporting procedures for foreign subsidiaries• Oversee all corporation tax and VAT returns (including a number of foreign VAT returns)• Liaison with payroll bureau to ensure timely preparation of payroll and annual returns. Negotiation with HMRC to establish PAYE Settlement Agreements and employment tax dispensations• Liaison with licensors (UK and overseas) regarding royalty agreements. Overseeing preparation of periodic royalty statements to licensors
