Currently working as a senior operations drilling engineer in Algeria for the BP JV Gas project. I have worked in both the In Amenas Filed delivering 3 wells including vertical and S-Shape and I am currently working in the ISG Southern Fields project where I have delivered 1 horizontal and 4 vertical high gas rate wells. Daily responsibilities include Well Program, AFEs, Detailed Drilling Procedures, Supporting rigsite operations, cement job planning, fluids planning, performance tracking, pre-spud and pre-section meetings, bit selection, BHA selection, Openwells, WellPlan Simulations and logistic planning. The role also has contract management responsibilities from tender, through scope of work, technical and commercial evaluation and contract award, contract performance reviews and solving contract disputes. Rotational role 3 on 3 off.

Tasks involved AFE, BOD, HSE Submission, Drilling Program, Work Instructions, Well Examination process and overseeing operations. I was also involved with a project to introduce RMR to the rig to speed up tophole drilling

I am currently working as a drilling engineer on the Magnus Platform – working on new slot splitter wells with 2 x 18.5/8” run inside 1 x 46” conductor which is a fun but challenging experience. Currently writing drilling program, working on WellPlan, Compass and other Landmark applications. Writing relief well plans, PON15, HSE, AFE, DCE for a spud in early October 11. Hope to get offshore to give a pre-spud in a few weeks.

North Sea - West Of Shetland (Scotland)

Worked offshore as a drilling engineer on the Clair platform. During this time I was offshore drilling materials co-ordinator, planning boats, drilling equipment, and POB. I also monitored drilling trends, captured lessons learned, did casing tallies, cement calcs, deck plans and general wellsite engineering tasks. Really enjoyed my year on the Clair, great crew and nice new platform

Spent my first year in the oil industry with Noble Drilling on the NTVL drilling for Maersk & BG as a Trainee Subsea Engineer – main jobs included running guide baseses, BOPs, LMRPs, Riser, Trees and maintaining and pressure testing equipment all BOP equipment. Never learned more in my life than my first 3 weeks offshore on nightshift. I miss the rota and money of being offshore!
