About Duncan Mcgregor

I have extensive antibody and protein engineering experience in the biotechnology industry stretching back to the early nineties from bench level scientist to senior management and board level. Cyclogenix focuses on discovering and developing immuno-oncology assets using its bispecific cylobody platform. Until starting Cyclogenix I occupied the CSO role at Haptogen Ltd for the year prior to its acquisition by Wyeth. I was also on the board of Haptogen from 2002-2007. The company owned rights to a proprietary peptide & antibody phage display system (DBDx®), that I invented while working as Principal Research Scientist at Rowett Research Services Ltd in Aberdeen. Previously, I was VP Research & Development at Isogenica Ltd, a peptide display technology company based in Cambridge, UK where I played a key role in inventing and commercializing Isogenica’s in vitro CIS display technology platform. Previously, I was a project leader at Scotgen Biopharmaceuticals Ltd, responsible for successfully establishing antibody and peptide phage display technologies.

    I started the company to explore the utility of the plant cyclotide family of micro-proteins as a scaffold for drug discovery, with particular emphasis on oral and BBB delivery of peptide or protein drugs, as well as evaluating/modulating cyclotide PK/PD profiles.I successfully concluded a research collaboration deal with Wyeth, and the collaboration was managed to the satisfaction of both parties, during which the company met all the research milestones. more recently, we have been looking at the use of cyclotides as standalone therapeutics with novel applications in oncology.
