I am a dedicated civil engineer with 8+ years of experience in construction industry, having managed different projects in both public and private sectors. I assist organizations in the delivery of critical infrastructure through project management of construction activities ranging from roads, drainage, residential buildings and irrigation infrastructure. My accomplishments include: • Delivery of rural and urban road infrastructure in Laikipia County of approximately 2000 Km of graded, 1100 Km of graveled rural roads and 9 Km of asphalt roads. Furthermore, achieved construction of $4.8 million smart towns in Rumuruti and Oljabet towns. The highlighted achievements were achieved through daily administration and supervision of county staff, contractors and public stakeholders for the FY 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 with a budget of $ 13 million. • Delivery of 6 key buildings and support infrastructure for the British Army Nyati Camp in Nanyuki – Kenya as part of the £ 70 Million infrastructure improvement as engineering manager where I supervised 3 contractors, 1 sub-contractors as well as lead a team of locally engaged civilians in constructing the various infrastructure elements. • Delivery of a 2.4 Km Lined irrigation canals, 18 km earth canals, various irrigation structures and construction of gravel inspection roads at the Mwea Irrigation Development project costing $ 8.5 Million, where, as the construction engineer for Lot 1 under Joycot General Contractors. I am responsible for converting management targets into the desired output through prioritizing and organizing tasks. I love applying my engineering management capabilities and experience to help organizations achieve targeted outputs and achieve construction/maintenance assignments. Additionally, am excited about volunteering opportunities in construction. In that vein, I got to build 8 classrooms for Kasiluni Primary School, in Mwingi North - Kitui County which is an ASAL area. The impact of such involvement resulted to better learning environment thus an increased enrollment of primary school students from 40 to 600 pupils.

    I am involved in planning, co-ordination and supervision of construction works at the Mwea Irrigation Development Project- LOT 1; funded by JICA . My daily work also involves construction supervision of a 2.4km lined open channel canal, 23 Km earth canals complete with gravel Inspection roads and 310 Irrigation structures; turnouts, diversion structures, spillways, drain inlets, washing steps, check-drops and drop structures, side drain and cross drain culverts. To achieve the construction tasks, I plan, assign and supervise a team of 110 contractor’s staff on work packages. Furthermore, I direct and co-ordinate construction activities of 4 sub-contractors with a total work force of 200 staff. In addition to field construction work, am involved in general project administrative tasks such as preparing and presenting weekly and Monthly progress meeting reports in site board meetings, Preparation of budget estimates and monthly work plans and programs for execution, preparation and submission of daily reports, reviewing and signing off working drawings for review by project manager and tracking costs. As the project manager deputy, I also handle all other delegated tasks.My achievements since joining the project include;1. Achieving a project progress of 10.51% equivalent to $804,9272. Construction of 1156/1270 Concrete lined panels 3. Construction of 7.4 Km of earthen canal and inspection road4. Successful Construction of 45 structures to 95% completion.

Delivery of 80 public works projects for Laikipia County Government departments.The above achievements were possible as I lead a team of 93 departmental staff and 40 Casual staff through planning and resourcing for tasks, assigning duties and monitoring performance targets while accounting for $ 6.81 Million departmental budget.

    As Project Manager for the Laikipia County Rural Road Construction Program under the equipment leasing program, I managed a team of 40 casual staff as well as plant and equipment leased to grade and gravel the Laikipia County rural road infrastructure network. Particularly, I inspected roads constructed under this program ensuring proper road construction quality, detailed requirements for special rural road construction, Co-ordination daily operations of the leasing program not limited to overseeing fueling operations, managing casuals payroll, preparing progress reports for the Chief Officer - Roads, facilitating equipment management and repairs through continuous communication RENTCO East Africa and engaging stakeholders including county assembly members and citizens on road construction matters. Furthermore, I solved problems arising from the public in stakeholder forums that included acquisition of encroached road way leaves and prioritizing roads to be constructed under the program.My Key achievements include; 1. Building and shaping the operational structure of the road construction program into road construction brigades and assigning duties and targets to staff, 2. Grading over 350 Km and gravelling over 130 Km of road network within the first dry operational period of 9 months with 2 road construction brigades thus connecting schools, hospitals, market towns previously inaccessible and raising standard of transport mobility within the County. 3. Leading the road construction team to deliver infrastructure within a security cordoned area of Ol- Moran where 200 Km of graded feeder roads were constructed and 95Km of road gravelled within3 months to improve accessibility and raise mobility for security personnel in the area. As a result of this effort, my team was recognized by the Governor - Laikipia County and awarded a Spot award.
