I specialise in turning research ideas into physical products, by the design and manufacture of both electronic and mechanical assemblies for harsh environments using my 38+ years of experience in the fields of military and aerospace product development, and my experience with various CAD/CAM tools including Zuken CADSTAR (PCB design), and Siemens NX (3D modelling).There has been nothing more rewarding than seeing something that I have designed, launched into space and working successfully a decade later.I have a broad range of skills in both electronic systems design and manufacture, mechanical design and manufacture, including concept, process research, design, manufacturing liaison, build, inspection, test and field integration.I have now moved premises from the Space Research Centre on central campus at Leicester University to the new Space Park Leicester, which is a large cooperation between Leicester University, industrial partners and SMEs to create a world-leading cluster for innovative research, enterprise and education in Space Research and Earth Observation.
