I have director responsibilities for all MS-Insights biological mass spectrometry business.
Manchester
I have the responsibility to provide cutting edge biological mass spectrometry workflows to cancer research groups onsite. This involves classic biochemical, nLCMSMS and bioinformatic solutions to todays research problems. The role is divided into routine service provision and advanced method development to enhance our abilities to answer complex biological questions. These method developments often involve bespoke collaboration projects with both technical and biological goals.
I was recruited in a dual role. Firstly, i was to facilitate the establishment of nLCMSMS capabilities on the paterson site to enable both quantitative and qualitative workflows with a particular focus on the study of phosphorylation. Secondly, I was to use these platforms to preform large scale quantitative profiling studies with a view to defining the molecular events driving embryonic stem cell differentiation.
My role was to develop and apply workflows able to define the downstream phosphorylation events following the activation of a specific cytokine receptor complex.
