During my 11+ years at CASEL, I have managed national and district-level research studies, overseen formative and summative evaluations of our professional learning and technical assistance, and served as a consultant for communities across the country that partnered with CASEL to continuously improve large-scale implementation to foster systemic change. Most recently, I oversaw the process of updating and advancing the CASEL Guide to Effective Social and Emotional Learning Programs (pg.casel.org), and CASEL's National Implementation Study - a multi-method research effort investigating the extent to which federal and state policies influence SEL implementation at the district and school level.As a consultant to external partners, I provided coaching, consultation on measuring outcomes, effective improvement science methods for using data to improve practice, and facilitated learning networks. When working with educators across the country, I collaborated with district leadership, research & evaluation teams, and organizations that coordinate out-of-school time programming. As an effective member of CASEL’s research team, my success depended on close collaboration with our Practice, Policy, and Communications teams to bring important projects across the finish line and communicate results to funders and the broader field.

Member of the Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Research Group, which focuses on school, family, and community approaches to enhance students’ social, emotional, and academic learning. The group consists of researchers, scholars, and practitioners based on the UIC campus which collaborates with educators and researchers around topics of importance to SEL. The goal of the SEL Research Group is to foster research on SEL and provide local, state, national, and worldwide leadership to the SEL field.
