David Ewing Duncan is an award-winning science journalist and the best-selling author of 12 books published in 21 languages; and an entrepreneur and advisor. He has written over 500 articles and columns for Wired, Vanity Fair, The New York Times, Scientific American, Atlantic, Fortune, National Geographic, and many others, and is a former commentator for NPR and special correspondent for ABC’s Nightline. He is CEO and Curator of Arc Fusion, a global event, problem solving, and consulting business specializing in "the fusion of health, IT, and medicine—and everything else." He is the Creative Director of Cure, a health and biotech incubator in NYC, and he has been a health expert in residence at IDEO. David is the co-founder of three companies, including the world's first enviro-genomics company. David’s last book was Talking to Robots: Tales from our Human-Robot Futures (Dutton, 2019).He is the author most recently of When I'm 164 (TED Books), Experimental Man (Wiley), and the global bestseller Calendar (HarperCollins).David is the founding Director of the Center for Life Science Policy at UC Berkeley, has taught creative writing at Stanford, and is a faculty member of Singularity University. He has served on special committees on communicating science for the National Academies of Science and has won the AAAS Magazine of the Year award (now the AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Award). He three times has been nominated for National Magazine Awards and has won numerous other awards and honors.
