I qualified with the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants in 1989. Most of my working life has been spent working in industry and commerce across various sectors and industries up to Board level. This gave me a depth of knowledge and expertise, which was put to good use later in my career. In 2010 I started my own accountancy practice, becoming a Director of Aspreys in 2014, where I have been actively involved since then.The move to teaching at a Higher Education establishment in 2012 was something I had not really considered, but found I really enjoyed, enabling me to pass on the expertise I had gained over many years. I am currently a senior lecturer in Financial Accounting and Taxation at Kent Business School, University of Kent. I have also been the Senior Tutor for the school working with an excellent team providing pastoral support to students. I have gained my PGCHE (Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education), and obtained an MSc in Professional Accountancy through the University of London.I continue to work with the accountancy practice alongside my teaching commitments, which I consider to be important as I can continue to provide students with current business knowledge, whilst supporting my client base.
