About Duncan Pagan

I support independent insurance brokers, throughout their business life cycle, to achieve their goals. From start-up entrepreneurs, wrestling with their first business plans, to established brokers that are striving for another gear of growth, right through to those considering final exit decisions and maximising their sale value. Long term, sustainable growth is the ambition of every broker but it is tough to achieve and particularly so for smaller firms with limited resources. But through open discussion, planning and with the right support, it can be achieved with a combination of know-how and effort.I lead specialist consultancy teams that support brokers across core business functions to either, create the framework and potential for growth, or that directly drive growth activities. It all revolves around a consultative approach, seeking to understand, challenge and guide brokers with their strategy and activity.It is very rewarding to the see the how brokers develop and evolve over time, making adjustments along the way to their plan as they reflect on what has worked and what has not. As with any form of consultancy, trust and valuable insight are two critical factors and no more so than when a broker is contemplating their exit or considering an acquisition. Both clients and the insurance market needs a vibrant and sustainable independent broking channel. I use my extensive network of relationships across the insurance sector to unlock opportunities, improve efficiencies and to create value for all participants. In return, I seek support to help brokers grow. Having created the very successful Bluefin Network proposition, I have gained valuable expertise in the strategic planning and development of dynamic business models in the broker channel, with a proven track record of success in sales distribution and operational delivery. This includes the ability to influence people and plans by challenging established thinking and introducing different perspectives. A leader and a team builder with a natural ability to network and forge relationships to achieve objectives.
