His depth of understanding of contemptuous military planning, and regional capabilities coupled with operational art delivered a significant toolset for the ADF's Defence Strategic Review and capability planning. His work in private enterprise boards linking strategic vision to practical outcomes has been extensive. Developing governance mechanisms that are aligned to organisational outcomes, creating agility in dynamic environments and delivering accountability throughout the organisation have been a professional passion for Duncan. In his role as a practical governance expert, Duncan has assisted boards develop crisis management plans, testing the plans through robust scenarios and subsequently improving processes and decision cycles.He has significant experience in strategic thinking, operational planning and risk assessment. His work in the governance, directorship and boardroom domains is unique and he is highly regarded as a published thought leader in business. He has been a State Councillor with the Australian Institute of Company Directors and provided advice on matters such as policy, directorship and governance to the Institute and government.
