I oversaw the research for Freedom House's two main projects, Freedom in the World and Freedom of the Press. My responsibilities included directing methodological and editorial processes for both projects; managing a large network of consultant and staff country analysts and editors; and ensuring the quality of our reports and scores. I was involved in a transformation of Freedom House's research and editorial output to bring it in line with the realities of the digital age and with the needs of our audience and stakeholders. I also gave interviews, briefings, and presentations to the media, stakeholders, and government officials on issues including governance and press freedom.
