Phd ResearcherYale School Of Medicine Department Of Genetics Aug 2012 - May 2018New Haven, Ct, UsPhD Candidate in the laboratory of Tian Xu in the Genetics Department (http://medicine.yale.edu/lab/xu/index.aspx). I uncovered the molecular mechanisms whereby a novel tumor suppressor is able to drive metastasis. I utilized a wide array of techniques and technologies and discovered a novel route that cancer cells take during metastasis through apical cell delamination. This work culminated in a first-author publication in PNAS.Rotation 1: Farren Isaacs Laboratory. I developed groundbreaking tools for high throughput genome engineering in eukaryotic cells.Rotation 2: In Hyun Park Laboratory. I characterized the DNA binding sites of a protein which is implicated in the neurodevelopmental disorder Rett Syndrome. -
Medical Research ScholarMedical Research Scholars Program (Mrsp) At Yale University 2012 - 2018I was selected to be one of only four members to enter the Medical Research Scholars Program in 2012. The Medical Research Scholars Program (MRSP) at Yale University bridges barriers between traditional predoctoral and medical training by providing Yale Ph.D. students with both medically oriented coursework and a mentored clinical experience. The coursework provides a grounding in biomedicine, and the clinical experience enables students to interact with patients to learn firsthand about disease symptoms, treatment options, and the limitations of current therapies.(Source - http://bbs.yale.edu/training/initiatives/mrsp.aspx)
