I manage internal communications for IU School of Medicine, the largest medical school in the United States. In my role, I create messaging on behalf of school leadership, consult with internal partners and oversee use of several web-based communications platforms (including Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Microsoft Sharepoint) in collaboration with the larger Indiana University communications team.

Manages prospective and current student programming at the Integrated Program in the Environment at Indiana University, with a focus on civic engagement and cross-disciplinary collaboration. I also engage faculty, staff, and the larger Indiana community in diverse environmental education initiatives.

The Bloomington Urban Forestry Research Group is a research team studying the urban forest as a social-ecological system; in this short-term, grant-funded position I assisted with research on the social and public health benefits of neighborhood participation in nonprofit tree-planting projects, as part of a multi-city study. My responsibilities included:-Conducting a literature review, including internet research, of over 100 studies-Utilizing social science methods to analyze documents-Writing/contributing to research publications-Working with multiple researchers with diverse backgrounds/areas of expertise-Qualitative and quantitative analysis

As an all-volunteer non-profit, Bloomington Community Orchard's Board of Directors manages day-to-day operations of the organization, as well as long-term strategic planning. I served as the Chair of the Executive Board, whereby I was responsible for overseeing the administration, finances, programs and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties included partnership management and community outreach.

As one of the only projects of its kind in the country, BCO is devoted to both sustainable living and community building. With a mission to dream, build and share an orchard community, this all-volunteer organization is devoted to bringing local food into the hearts and minds of its consumers through hands-on education and community engagement. I served on the Executive Board while leading IU campus expansion efforts and facilitating campus planting projects as the Graduate Advisor of student organization BCO-IU.

As Vice Chair, my responsibilities included:-Facilitating monthly board meetings and semi-annual board retreats-Organizing monthly board educational activities and speakers-Coordinating with the Chair of the Board on prioritization of organizational initiatives, leadership recruitment, volunteer engagement, and community speaking engagements-Representing BCO in the local, regional, state, and national/international community

I lead the Partner Plantings program at the Bloomington Community Orchard, including:-Facilitating partnerships across the city of Bloomington, as well as surrounding communities-Developing community educational resources, including a Community Planting Team and the BCO Partner Planting Resource Guide-Management of 4-5 community plantings per season (Fall and Spring), facilitated by BCO and in partnership with community organizations

The IU Integrated Program in the Environment (launched in 2013) is the first phase in a reorganization of environmental studies at IU Bloomington. The IPE oversees a variety of undergraduate environmental degrees across 25 departments and 5 schools within IU, and brings together more than 100 faculty members–including world-renowned scientists and instructors- in the environmental and sustainability fields. Its interdisciplinary nature reflects not only the contributions of the individual scholars, but a commitment to cooperation and shared purpose necessary to prepare the next generation of scientists and leaders.As Special Projects Coordinator, I worked directly under the Associate Director of the IPE. My responsibilities included:-Drafting grant proposals, in support of continued long-term fund development-Partnership coordination, including MOU development-Leading educational and outreach initiatives for diverse audiences- including youth (all ages), high school students, undergraduate and graduate students, families, and community members.-Coordination of adult and youth educational programming at the Preserve, including the Indiana Master Naturalist Program and Project WILD-Supervision of 3 undergraduate staff-Administrative support

As the North America Cities intern, I worked closely with a small professional team, supporting the strategic priorities of the North America Cities Network. My responsibilities included:-Management of the JPB Strategic Small Grants evaluation process-Assisting in the coordination of a Network training for partners and members, in order to strengthen conservation outcomes in urban areas across North America-Assessing gaps in science, policy, and community engagement needs-Researching national-scale organizations for potential partnerships-Developing a partnership scoping evaluation framework

I worked as the Program Coordinator for the pilot year of an Indiana University-affiliated summer camp, working under the Integrated Program in the Environment. The camp (Summer Experience in Sustainability & the Environment, or SESE) aims to teach students (primarily underrepresented and minority Indianapolis-area high school students) about sustainability and environmental initiatives at IU and in the Bloomington community, with the intent of recruiting them to pursue a career in the field. I was in charge of all aspects of program coordination, including:-Initiating partnerships-Developing environmental curriculum-Management of a $14,000 budget-Recruiting student participants-Hiring, training, and supervising a staff of 20 college students-Creating a Program Summary Report, including guidelines and recommendations for the continued success of the program

I was the Graduate Assistant to Dr. Vicky Meretsky, Professor in SPEA and Director of the Master of Science in Environmental Science program. As her GA, I provided administrative support in the development and proposal of a new Master's program. This included:-Researching job markets, related academic programming, professional opportunities, and relevant companies and/or organizations-Contacting professionals in the related field and assisting in interviews-Assisting in proposal writing
