As founder and CEO of Locus Technologies, I have spent my career combining my understanding of environmental science with a vision of how to gather, aggregate, organize and analyze EHS and water quality information to help organizations better manage their ESG scores. The result: Locus is now the leading provider of SaaS ESG, EH&S, water, and sustainability software, and outpaces its competitors in the full gamut of SaaS compliance applications.Locus evolved from my work as a research associate at Carnegie Mellon in the 1980s, where I developed the first prototype system for environmental information management. This early work led to the development of numerous databases at some of the nation’s largest environmental sites, and ultimately, to the formation of Locus in 1997.Under my leadership, Locus developed the world’s first commercial SaaS EH&S and water quality management system. Our software has been ahead of the curve in helping organizations in not only managing their EH&S compliance, water, and sustainability but also turning their data into a competitive advantage in their operating models and ESG scoring.The work we do at Locus has evolved over time to encompass more and more aspects of business’ strategic planning. While a key incentive to using Locus SaaS is regulatory compliance, my team and I have taken a wider view of the mandate to improve environmental stewardship by creating systems to improve EHS+S performance across our clients’ organizational silos; regulatory programs; emission sources; energy management; all aspects of EHS and risk, ESG reporting, and technology platforms and mobile devices.
