Durai Shunmugam is an active consultant and advisor to institutions, corporates, NGOs and regulatory bodies on strategic projects, matters of governance and management issues. He sits on boards and various committees for these entities. He also regularly sits as a mediator on international disputes. Before stepping out in pursuit of independence, he was the Head of the Dispute Resolution practice group for Stephenson Harwood in Singapore and a key part of the core management team there for over 15 years. The Singapore office grew from about 10 to almost 100 in that time. During his active legal career, he has won numerous personal accolades and was highly recommended in every major legal directory. He is a qualified arbitrator, a fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and a Principal Mediator in the Singapore Mediation Centre.
