Teaching has always been an integral part of academic life and my teaching experience spans for over 10 years now. I have taught different courses at various capacities at different levels. The courses that I have taught include both bachelor's and master's level literature courses and basic level linguistics and ELT courses. I have been a tutor to MOOC-NPTEL course, "Introduction to Literary Theory" for the four times that it has run and tutored Communicative English to UG-students at IIT, Kanpur. I prefer working with a detailed course syllabus and a transperent structure of the course to allow students to stay organized and grasp the basic concepts in the course. My doctoral research dealt with the topic, "Literature of Return: Portrayals of Post-Independence India in the Travel Memoirs of Indian Middle-Class Returnees" and I am looking forward to working on the category of literature of return further as part of my research work. I am particularly interested in the ways India has been portrayed in the texts authored by Indian women, who returned to their country of origin and narrated their experience of travelling across the subcontinent as part of my research work further. I am simultaneously interested in Indian middle-class self-fashioning that has been extensively explored in the category that I term as literature of return.
