I was a principal engineer and first hire at Zipper, a Slack-alumni seed stage company. I did a little bit of everything, and it was a unique experience. Here's a grab bag of the kinds of things I did during my time at Zipper: * Implemented and architected the Typescript/Apollo GraphQL backend for 3 separate MVP products while Zipper searched for product/market fit* Wrote a lightweight, persisted queuing system that ran approximately 15k tasks* identified and selected a variety of core technologies (email provider, CDP, monitoring/error tools, and logging) and ran internal bake-offs to determine which tools to use* Participated in and led hiring processes, which grew the engineering team by 400%. Also led sourcing for product designers and leveraged network to find user research and prospective customers* Drove GTM efforts by generating demo assets, writing marketing copy, participating in user research with prospective customers, and refining the company messaging/branding.* Planned sessions for the quarterly in person, all-team meetings where we defined and refined the product direction, company goals, and overall values

I iterated on the new team flow, where I authored the original signup APIs, I wrote a CMS for Slackbot to respond with common answers to common questions in DM, and designed a series of push notifications sent to the first 10 joiners of a team.
