My title may be “Director Training & Development”, yet one of my favorite aspects of my work is that I get to wear a variety of hats, including Instructor, Problem Solver, Strategist, Program Manager, Facilitator, Event Planning and Logistics, Relationship Builder, Tactician, Collaborator, Tech Guru, and more. Training and Instructional Design is my field of expertise. And I love it!What I enjoy about being a Senior Corporate Training Manager is that I get to help employees improve their performance while supporting the needs of the organization. One of the keys to my success in corporate training and instructional design is my ability to take large quantities of information, including technical concepts, and translate that information into easily understood content that can be communicated effectively across a variety of mediums. These include Zoom, Teams, Web, eLearning, in-person and more traditional methods such as training manuals. Another strength is building strong relationships inside and outside the organization, where I get to know my target audience and stakeholders. As a result, I’m able to design memorable learning programs that resonate with the user. I enjoy developing strategy and working all the way through the tactics for program execution; in fact, much of my time is devoted to ensuring our strategy is in line with business objectives as we begin a new project. One of my proudest accomplishments was designing, building and launching an onboarding and training program from scratch for new hires. I’m both data-driven and creative, assessing outcomes, reviewing metrics to analyze learning and looking for ways to improve the delivery of material in an effort to engage employees.
