After my role as Podcast Producer, I am thrilled to start this summer as the Co-President of the McGill AI Society where I manage a team of the 17 incredible executive members of MAIS, ensuring the effective execution of each role and event. As one of the largest student organizations at McGill, we have hosted numerous networking events and workshops with industry leaders, including close partnerships with MILA, the institute globally recognized for its AI contributions. The aim of MAIS is to make AI accessible for McGillians and those in Montreal, as we also focus largely on ethics and diversity in the AI field. An initiative I am particularly excited to develop further in the upcoming year is the Kernel program to foster academic research and project collaboration, leading to new research publications and successful AI/ML projects with startups. I am also looking forward to successfully executing our annual AI Hackathon, MAIS Hacks, to facilitate the collaboration of bright individuals across North America. We have lots of exciting events lined up for the year, so stay tuned!

As the quantitative risk summer intern at CACIB, I am working on the automation of validation processes by Python. I am part of the model validation team who ensures the viability, robustness and reliability of the front office pricing models before they can be used for production purpose. Specifically, I work within FX options pricing to automate the risk modelling and pricing processes, and conduct regular testing to verify the robustness of the program. I am also continuously working to optimize the program by cutting down the run time and enhancing user experience. Alongside working on this program, I update the user manual and the program documentation to keep up to date with my changes. I am very excited to continue working with this amazing team full of incredibly knowledgeable and helpful colleagues.

I completed my 2023 summer internship at Odifin, a consulting firm based in Istanbul, Türkiye. I work very closely with the financial modelling and risk management team, while also working on developing a new program using similar modelling techniques. I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to work with such great minds and people.
