Ingres Corporation has become Actian Corporation

Responsible for overall direction for several products within the Ingres Corporation. Specifically, I am responsible for the OpenROAD Server architecture. I am involved and make contributions to the Enterprise Access, EDBC and the Ingres DBMS. Part of my responsibilities involve research, prototyping and design. Languages involved are as follows: OpenROAD 4GL, C++, C#, ASP.NET, VB.NET, Java, Python, PHP and C.

Development, Support and Quality Assurance responsibility for several product areas. These include: Ingres connectivity interfaces (ODBC, JDBC, .NET Data Provider and Networking Subsystems); Enterprise Access connectivity (transparent gateways to Oracle, MS-SQL Server, Sybase, Informix, IBM-UDB, CA-Datacom, CA-IDMS, IBM-DB2, IBM-VSAM and IBM-IMS) and OpenROAD (Object Oriented application development and deployment product that is based on a virtual machine implementation and allows traditional client/server and N-Tier applications to be developed and deployed.

Manager for Enterprise Access Develoopment, Ingres Connectivity Development and OpenROAD Development. Introduced CA-IDMS Gateway and CA-Datacom Gateway.

Responsible for DB2 Gateway development. Had project responsibility for introduction of IMS Gateway. Designed support for accessing repeating group data for an OpenVMS RMS system into a relational 1st normal form that could be manipulated by SQL using the RMS gateway. Introduced row returning procedures for DB2 Gateway.

Recruited to deliver GA version of DB2 Gateway. Delivered GA version of IMS Gateway.

Responsible for software that emulated VTAM Channel-to-Channel adapter for high-speed satellite communications device. Designed and implemented technique that decoupled products dependency on specific releases of VTAM. Job involved detailed VTAM and MVS internals knowledge.

Created support organization for a proprietary micro computer-based product that off-loaded the editing, testing and creation of COBOL applications that ran on the IBM/370 mainframe. This allowed the effective increase in the number of concurrent developers at a reduced cost.

Lead MVS systems programmer for Chevron data centers. Resonsible for upgrades, maintenance and proper operation of all IBM MVS systems. Introduced the use of IBM VM/370 into this site.

Field specialist on internals for the following products: MVS, CICS, IMS, VTAM, VSAM, BTAM, TCAM, 3705 EP, 3705 PEP, 3705 NCP, VM/370 and DLI/VSE. Western reginal specialist for MVS, CICS, VM/370 and VTAM. IBM 3705 and 3033 hardware specialist.
