The Executive Director is the key management leader of Adelante Hispanic Achievers. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:->Board Governance: Works with the Board to fulfill the organization’s mission.->Financial Performance and Viability: Develops resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization.->Mission and Strategy: Works with the Board and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning, and community outreach.->Administration/Operations. Oversees and implements appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate.ACCOMPLISHMENTS:- Increased organizational budget 24% annually over 4 years: from $102,000 to $195,000- Increased staff size from two full-time to five full-time employees - Created partnerships with six higher-education institution partners to reserve major scholarships for Latinx students every year- Expanded program offerings and established a new program site Expanded the number of students served from 120 to 185 per week across all programs- Cultivated a culture of support and holistic growth among all staff, students, parents, and volunteers- Helped to foster a culture of collaboration and partnership within the community among organizations, institutions, and corporations interested in serving our students and families

I was responsible for all volunteer recruitment, training, hiring, and coordination for ~100 volunteers across four separate programs each year. I also worked with Adelante's students alongside my volunteers twice weekly at after-school programs, and once a week for Saturday Mentoring & Enrichment and College Readiness programs. I developed the curriculum and activities for each of our programs. I was also Adelante's representative at a number of conferences, workshops, and meetings with organizations around Louisville, and was responsible for creating new and strengthening existing partnerships in the community. Lastly, I assisted the Executive Director in expanding Adelante's capacity to serve our community by developing both technological and organizational infrastructure, overseeing fundraising events, writing grants, and cultivating and stewarding relationship with our generous donors.

I was responsible for recruiting, training, hiring and overseeing 40-60 volunteer tutors over the course of a year, as well as pairing them with students to form positive and beneficial relationships. I worked with the students alongside my tutors twice weekly at after-school programs, and once a week for Saturday enrichment and college readiness programs. I was responsible for developing the curriculum for each of our programs.

As a student of Philosophy I have developed my skills at thinking, writing, and speaking clearly and logically. I have gained the ability to evaluate and compare values, both in life and in varying academic fields of study.
