As a contract geologist with McEwen Mining I collaborated with consultants to identify and validate source material to be used as potential growth media to facilitate development of a reclamation plan contributory to the development of an EIS. The project was field based, in the Roberts Creek Mountains, at McEwen's Gold Bar property.

Geologist: Mapped completely underground in the shaft sinking process. Managed drill rig mobilization and daily operations. Logged oriented core, in underground exploration drilling, using the Golder manual. Logged R.C. chips for basic lithology and structure. Proficient in trench surveys of soil and sediment classification. Worked directly with both mine engineers and drillers.Environmental Scientist: Performed compliance inspections, field investigations, and baseline datacollection and analysis. Monitored and analyzed groundwater and precipitation chemistry and dynamics using data loggers, micro purge pumps, sounding tape, pressure transducers, temperature and moisture probes, pH and conductivity probes, and GPS equipment. Well practiced in desert plant, baseline vegetation identification and reseeding efforts for the purpose of reclamation. Provided quality control/assurance. Geologic technician: Performed structural core logging. Recorded data during aquifer stress tests. Cleaned and photographed core for records, organized and maintained physical core catalog, and data. Maintained core shed work area. Performed basic property and vehicle maintenance. Worked well with a diverse and ever changing staff.
