About Dustin Chambers

I'm an economist and applied econometrician who has published widely on the topics of income inequality, poverty, economic growth, and the regressive effects of government regulations, including their unintended impact on consumer prices, entrepreneurship, income inequality, poverty, and mortality. With regard to my regulation research, I have testified before Congress and several state legislatures, and have briefed four state governor's offices and lawmakers from 18 states.With the rapid development of natural language processing and specifically attention-based large language models, my research focus has shifted toward the analysis of state regulations using these disruptive technologies.Outside of academia, I've founded two startups and have served as a consultant to both Y Combinator and Google-funded startups.
