About Dustin Lien
I think that learning is often mistaken by absorbing knowledge, but by just "doing", learning proves to be effective. Working in sub-assembly and manufacturing, I have been privy to many of the experiences, hardships, and challenges the floor faces every day, every hour. Despite the long hours and the pressure to meet commitments, the comradery, respect, and perspective I gained is what drives me to perform as a NPI Engineer.I worked in production for 4-years, and I attribute this experience to my success and strength as an engineer. I leverage this experience when working as a NPI engineer asking how can I make things more easier, efficient, or scalable for manufacturing. Design for Manufacturing will be always be one of top priorities because not only it improves the quality, and cycle time of the product, it would make it easier for the people working on my design/process. In my opinion, this is a core principle of engineering - manufacturability.I keep this principle as I grow and learn as an engineer. I will always be seeking opportunities to continue to develop my skill-set in product development.
