Administration of servers built upon both X86_64 and X86 platforms running a variety of operating systems including Solaris, Linux (Red Hat and Oracle Linux) and various version of Windows server. Also administration of NetBackup tape backup solution for both the UNIX and firewall platforms, tasks include ensuring all backup policies run, maintaining the fleet of tapes and all associated documents. Tasks include both hardware and software, from diagnosing hardware faults for break fix to troubleshooting operating system and application software issues and working with external vendors to find solutions. This can involve working on weekends to implement software patches and occasionally working overtime at the customer’s request. Providing logs and cleaning them of any restricted information for external developers. Implementing data patches for test, QA, and PROD environments. Creation, installation, configuration and maintenance of virtual machines via VMware ESXi or KVM for bespoke applications and Oracle databases. Administration of ESXI servers. SAN Administration and configuration in conjunction with fiber channel switches to enable bare metal access for virtual machines. Creation of fiber channel zones and troubleshooting fiber channel switches. Creating and maintaining supporting documentation for Service Design Documents and the internal knowledgebase. Setting up physical servers and providing support during the entire hardware and software lifecycle. Administration of the Mitel PBX environment, maintaining supportive documentation to guide not-experienced users through the difficult processes of administration.
