Part of small team working to establish a new Tool and Die shop in Bastrop, Texas. Served as machining process expert helping to spec new equipment and tooling.Helped implement Siemens NX as a new CAM solution, integrating into existing Teamcenter environment. Built tool libraries and helped establish standardized practices. Helped debug and qualify new post processors for Siemens NX on Heidenhain TCN 640 controllers. Helped qualify new Hermle and Georg Fischer 5 axis trunnion machines and a Cheto 7 axis gundrill machine.

Served as technical lead to machine shop and machining process expert to design team and customers. Sat on the Continuous Improvement Committee and helped drive continuous improvement by working with tool vendors for tool testing and improved work holding solutions. Served as Manufacturing Engineer and routed jobs through the shop utilizing JobBOSS and purchased tooling and material from vendors for large high cavitation mold builds. Served as Manufacturing Engineer for “Express Lane” projects. Express Lane projects were single cavity molds, with limited actions, often utilizing existing hot manifolds and mold bases. The idea of the Express Lane was to get plastic parts in the hands of customers as quickly as possible, with the intention of those designs being leveraged in the design of larger tools. Designed fixturing and produced in process models as needed, utilizing Siemens NX.

Designed electrodes utilizing Siemens NX, supporting cell of 4 Makino sinker EDM machines, utilizing Erowa fixturing. Served as member of the Safety Committee, implemented proliferation of improved lifting hardware across the shop.

CNC milling, running Hurco and OKK 3, 4, and 5 axis mills. 3 axis NC programming utilizing Siemens NX and Hurco conversational programming software. Served as lead for mold base manufacture and repair.

CNC milling and wire EDM work related to mold processes including roughing core and cavity, hard milling using high speed machining, base work, manufacturing electrodes, and various other tasks in different tool steels including P20, H13, S7, and 420 Stainless. Familiar with injection, compression, and transfer molds. Proficient with Hurco, Prototrak, Heidenhain, and Fanuc controls. Familiar with conversational programming on Hurco and Prototrak machines. Some familiarity programming with Surfcam and Bobcad.

Set up jobs and ran production. Minor program editing. Mostly Haas VF-3 work. Some familiarity with Fanuc controls. Many close tolerance jobs in stainless steel, titanium, and various other materials. Work included automotive, aerospace, medical, and various other industries.
