My current 20+ year IT career began when I became interested in technology late in my teenage years while working at a public library. I had two great mentors who were tech guru's and they inspired me to set my educational path towards IT. I completed a bachelor's degree in Computer & Information Technology in the early 2000's when tech was just starting to heat up!I started my professional career at an insurance company as an intern. This led to a full time opportunity in app support and development. During my time in app support, I became interested in database administration. In turn, this led to a role change to DBA. I was a successful DBA for a total of about 8 years. The past 7-8 years of my career has seen me take on many new roles and opportunities in project, program, portfolio and product management as well as product ownership roles. I have also had the exciting opportunity to work in the Mergers & Acquisitions space leading challenging programs which involved integrating IT organizations and technologies.I have had an exciting and fulfilling career thus far but I'm only about halfway through. I will always be interested in learning, growing and leaning into wherever my path takes me for this second half. I am confident it will be just as rewarding as the first half!
