After less than 2 years was promoted to Sr. Manager over a full-stack team of 8. Grew team to 14 through hiring and mergers. Team was mostly remote employees across 6 states. Super low turnover. Led through 4 stressful acquisitions (AOL, Volicon, Yahoo!, Apollo). Developed tools to improve team processes (Python, bash, Electron, Aurela, Node.js, Hasura, GraphQL, Slack API, Jira API). Performed code reviews, mentored, coached, gave presentations, planned team building and enjoyed camaraderie. Worked with product management, project management, and senior management to align priorities and resources to meet business needs and goals. After the Apollo acquisition we had major turnover. I decided to switch to a lateral developer position to focus on building and coding again. Was shortly after promoted to Senior Principal Software Engineer where I continued to lead and architect solutions around the CMS and APIs. Created a robust search service for customers video library with a custom query language similar to search engines’ query tools.
