At Raise I have held many titles including software engineer, devops/infrastructure engineer, and engineering manager.As a software engineer I worked on our mobile API, created our referral program, and extended order automation. As a devops and infrastructure engineer, where I have spent most of my time, I have created software to manage test instances and run complex CI for our monolith, created CI/CD for multiple concerns, created multi-tiered AWS networks, helped to deploy, extend and maintain an in-house Kubernetes cluster and migrate our applications to Kubernetes, developed and deployed proxies, and so much more eventually taking over ownership of our entire infrastructure and becoming the lead engineer on the Platform team.As the engineering manager of Platform, I guide the infrastructure team on the development of our infrastructure, developer tooling, security, and compliance and ensure we meet our objectives in a timely manner while staying true to our mission of a customer first experience. Since becoming the manager of Platform my responsibilities have expanded to include data engineering, IT, and compliance as well with the biggest projects in these new areas being the re-architecture and automation of IT which is significantly reducing complexity and maintenance burden and our SOC II compliance framework which has resulted in one of our businesses getting SOC II Type 1 certified and working toward SOC II Type 2.
