The award was the “largest ever handed down by Finra for a dispute within the industry, and the largest overall for the last five years.” Dustin played a key role, both before and during trial, on the Clare Locke team that won a $3 million jury verdict from Rolling Stone magazine for false and defamatory statements in a now-debunked viral article about an alleged gang rape at UVA. Dustin also facilitated a confidential settlement of a multi-million-dollar dispute between his client – a successful businessman and international adventurer – and a space tourism company that warranted that it had the rights from the Russian Federal Space Agency to provide a flight around the moon. Utilizing the international Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (“UDRP”), Dustin has secured the ownership rights to an unlawfully registered and harassing domain name and website that infringed on the common law trademark rights of his client, a high-profile hedge fund manager.
