Primary Role is to identify Critical Job Demands and Functional Barriers. Responsible for performing occupational therapy assessments, program planning, intervention, consultation, education, discharge planning, and program evaluation using recognized occupational therapy techniques and practices.

Level 3 Clinical Placement: Setting Inpatient Rehab-Quickly obtained high level of independence managing my own schedule and caseload.-Effectively working as a part of an interdisciplinary team to facilitate rehab goals for clients.-Focus on variety of assessments (COPM, OSOT, MoCA, MVPT-3, FIM, etc.) and treatments for clients with a variety of acute health needs. -Admission and discharge planning including equipment and community support provision.

Facilitating client satisfaction surveys in addition to program consultation to evaluate the program’s initial mandate and make recommendations/suggestions based on current service model.Manuscript collecting our data and findings used by current manager to advocate for greater funding for service.

Level 2 Clinical Placement: Part-time spent on Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACT), and part-time spent in clinical counselling role on Mood and Anxiety Disorders Team.-Developed a more comprehensive understanding of the OT role in various mental health contexts.-Demonstrated leadership in developing an educational intervention to support the reintegration of a client into their community. Interviewed for publication at Providence Care Mental Health Services regarding this intervention (See link attached).-Greater understanding about the continuum of care as presented in rural communities.

Level 1 Fieldwork PlacementIncreased knowledge base regarding the various inflammatory and degenerative arthritis diagnoses, physical assessment, as well as pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments.Designed student evaluation tool for professional interactions and communication which has been used for subsequent OT students.

Level 1 Fieldwork PlacementClinical and community based OT intervention including client engagement, home safety assessment, assistive devices prescriptions, and motivational interviewing.Independently developed several resources for clients of the clinic that continue to be utilized by staff.

Worked within the multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, behavioural therapists, and teachers to develop and implement individualized programs for children aged 2 – 13 years with various disabilities and medical conditions.
