Torres Law LLC was founded in 2012 by attorney Dustin Torres, Esq., during a period of great transition. American business owners were working hard to rebound from the challenging economic times following the Great Recession of 2008. At home, Torres and his wife were preparing for the arrival of their first child.A graduate of New York Law School in lower Manhattan, Torres launched his legal career in New York City, focusing on litigation, small business law, debtor-creditor law, restaurant law and entertainment law. As a litigator in the business capital of the world, he worked on cases in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island. Throughout law school, he worked for one of New York’s premiere music industry attorneys who represented Billboard Top 20 artists, as well as nationally acclaimed mixers, producers and managers.Because Torres was born in Toledo, raised in Cincinnati and attended Ohio University in Athens for his undergraduate degrees, it was always a dream of his to return to the Buckeye state to practice law. So after five years in the big city, Torres returned home and joined Crumpton Law LLC in Columbus, Ohio.During his tenure with Crumpton Law LLC, Torres represented small business clients in business formation, contract drafting, negotiation and litigation. He also managed the firm’s estate planning practice and drafted wills and trusts for families and business owners. Torres soon made partner at the firm.In 2012, it became necessary that Matthew Crumpton, the managing partner of Crumpton Law LLC, dedicate all of his time to his executive position in his family’s national restaurant franchise. As such, a new firm, Torres Law LLC, was born.The Torres Law LLC philosophy is simple: he believes in offering clients the experience of working with a big law firm, but at a cost you can afford. Torres was also an entertainment law professor at Groove U, a revolutionary two-year music career program in Columbus, Ohio.
