Since June 2009 I am a freelance Dutch medical writer. Besides I am working in the field of medical innovations as a business angel (ProLira, Medangel) and mentor (Rockstart Startups). Previously, I worked as a medical doctor (Internal Medicine) in a hospital for two decades. Involvement in the Dutch Visitation Project and in Quality and Complication control in this period. Afterwards I worked for a decade at Achmea Health Insurances Company as a medical advisor. With positions in healthcare procurement, control and innovations. In this period a (profile) medical advisory registration was obtained. As a science journalist my focus areas are eHealth, big data, storytelling, blockchain, zoonoses and artificial intelligence.
