I am the owner of a small animal business called Cactus Patch Hedgehogs. This experience is very unique to myself and has allowed me to gain knowledge on management, marketing, accounting, and communication. I supervise a hedgehog breeding program consisting of three breeding females. I have constructed marketing techniques to establish a customer base totaling ten customers located within Ohio and Massachusetts. This customer base continues to grow daily. I have created educational information about hedgehogs and plan to continue producing educational information.I also participate in yearly reviews of our operations. This includes preparing financial documents to check the financial state of the business, and completing the required tax forms. This allows me to have hands on experience inside my field of study.I also participate in daily operations which includes animal care and planning.

I also enhanced my communication and leaderships skills.During my time at Bath and Body Works I managed a team of two associates to ensure replenishment goals were met during the holiday season. I also educated customers on a daily basis about the products offered by Bath and Body Works, and the brand they represent. When working I engaged in check-out procedures, sanitation duties, and team meetings to ensure the customers have the best experience possible while in store. I also assisted with floor set procedures. Which enabled me to learn more about time management, and product management.

During my time at Equestrian Ridge I worked as a Trail Guide. This position educated me on the finer points of an equine business and enhanced my communication and teaching skills even farther. I instructed small groups of two to five riders on basic riding skills and then would escort them on a trail ride in the Hocking Hills area. I educated visitors about horses and their daily needs, different breeds, methods of riding, and the rescue work that was done at Equestrian Ridge.I also cared for the horses to ensure they would stay healthy and fit. This included watering, feeding, grooming, and exercising if there were no planned rides.

I was employed by the Center for Service and Civic Engagement. Although my official title was Secretary, my work was mostly student and community focused. This allowed me to gain knowledge in community engagement and communication.While there I participated in promoting the importance of community service to fellow students and the local community. I collaborated with a team of four employees to ensure service hours were logged correctly and communicated to the school and organizations. I also aided in developing a service opportunity with a team of four other students. This service opportunity allowed for ten student volunteers to gather Christmas gifts for poverty stricken families. I also aided in day-to-day operations which consisted of communicating with fellow students, answering phone calls, preparing emails, and sanitation of the office.
