One of my first memories as a student is receiving my report card and having my parents read my teachers feedback out-loud disappointedly, “Duygu is one of my most talkative students and constantly requires reminders, no matter where I move her in class she communicates with everyone!” Throughout my life, I have turned this art of being able to communicate with anyone at any given time into a positive competency. From joining community service clubs in college, to studying International Business with a focus on internal and external communication in digital marketing, to working in different careers that allowed me to utilize this skill in different ways. I’ve learned that effective communication is at the core of any successful leader and business.My passion for teaching comes from my experience as a student who confronted my own learning differences. This journey has led me to acknowledge the complexity of the never-changing education system in an ever-changing world, and the nuance of learning has led me to pursue a career in teaching effective communication and conquering educational barriers. I incorporate an inquiry-based learning approach into lesson planning in order to encourage students to engage in problem-solving and experiential learning, which provides a context for differentiated instruction. I create a student-centered environment in the classroom, facilitate learning, and act as a motivational coach who champions student achievements while promoting a safe and positive learning environment.
