Architected, Designed, Developed “SoRD” (System of Record Database) for storage assets. This is a Data Warehouse comprised of Star Schemas that provide storage inventory and trending for over 200 Petabytes of NAS and SAN assets. There are also operational (transactional) components that facilitate infrastructure mapping, capacity management, requests, reservation and deployment support and over $500 Million in annual billing. Acquired and managed staff, established and worked project plans, Introduced and executed in the context of various development methodologies: Spiral Models and Agile Methodologies: FDD, and Scrum Introduced new products/technologies into the bank: GForge, Oracle OWB/ODI, BI-EE, SOA Suite and APEX. Established the product life cycle and work flow for new features and system maintenance. Established time tracking, bug tracking, automated roadmaps, source code control, wiki, document and forum management. Enterprise Subject Matter Expert (SME) for NetApp storage products and management tools: OCI ( aka SanScreen), OCUM (aka DataFabric Manager), EMC's products and management tools ECC systems, Isilon scale out NAS and Atmos Cloud Storage Platform.

Led all aspects of the Engineering Applications Operations Support group under Network Support Systems. Developed, deployed and supported numerous ad-hoc and online reporting and data retrieval systems resulting in estimated cost savings of $177 million over 5 years. Created and implemented processes that streamlined the nationwide installation and maintenance of all software/hardware managed and developed by this group. Consequently, reduced the resources required to test and install new applications, decreased installation and runtime errors and increased reliability resulting in increased revenues.

Successfully architected, developed and deployed the Outside Tracking and Billing (OTB) system. During the execution of this project performed various roles—Project Manager, Staff Manager, Project Lead, Technical Lead and Customer Advocate. This project had been attempted (unsuccessfully) several times before, the introduction and implementation of time proven development methodologies facilitated the initial delivery and subsequent phases of this project on time and under budget with “zero” runtime errors. Successfully delivered the first phase of the Financial Data Store (FDS) system. This system was a historical repository for all membership financial transactions as well as becoming a data source for the company’s general ledger. Extensively used ETL tools (e.g., Informatica) from multiple data sources to one data sync. Sponsored and led the department-wide implementation, construction and deployment of new change management and software control systems utilizing PVCS Dimensions. Established product packaging via Solaris packages and RPM’s, which significantly reduced implementation errors and support efforts.

Established the Customer Support Facility (CSF). The CSF was a full service software engineering facility providing a wide array of services from Help Desk Support to Rapid Application Design and Development (RADD). Produced technical estimates for “Bids and Proposals”. Managed the Development Group, initiated and/or approved all new architecture, design and development decisions. Maintenance responsibilities on all newly developed products as well as legacy systems. Designed and implemented the local infrastructure of the CSF facility (UNIX file servers, PC systems, local TCP/IP network, Web presence, lab facilities, DataKit). Created a high performance traffic simulator for the New Atomics product line. Successfully planned and completed all Year 2000 Enhancements both internal to the facility and external to the customer.

Responsible for all aspects of design, development, test and deployment of the MGTS and PASM systems. These systems provided detail diagnostic, test and load generation capabilities for the wireless telephone market. Execution of this position required a working and applied knowledge of various protocols: LAP (B and D) MTP, SCCP, ISUP, TUP, TCAP, INAP, IS-41, ISDN, and X.25 protocols.

Assigned to AT & T, Network Systems as a Member of the Technical Staff (MTS). Development and maintenance responsibilities for programs and processes collectively known as the Switch Maintenance Subsystem (SMS), associated with the Multi-Function Operations System (MFOS). This encompassed: requirements definition, design, development, test and deployment as well as follow on support and maintenance. Product was a real time Telephone Network Management System, built predominately on UNIX, using C and C++. Developed and maintained product across and eclectic environment of Amdahl, HP, NCR, Starserver, Sun and PCs. Platforms supported: AT & T 3B2 series, HP 600-900 series computers utilizing various development tools (CASE, Configuration Management etc…).

Provided a wide range of Engineering Services. Customers included: Aerospace Technologies Group, Grimes Aerospace, Harrop Industries, and Montmaps. C and C++ development on DOS and Windows Platforms to facilitate process control needs in the ceramics industry. Produced technical manuals for undocumented flight control computers by reverse engineering source code and schematics. Provided expertise to help customers make decisions and/or procure the necessary hardware and software solutions for their individual needs.

From May 1987 to September 1989 functioned as a senior member of the B1B Test Program Set (TPS) development team located at the Rockwell International Central TPS Integration Facility (CTIF) in Columbus, Ohio. From 1989 to 1991 accepted the role of Site Manager in addition to Engineering duties. This spanned design/redesign and development of hardware and software, provided training and technical guidance for junior members, executed sell-off. From May 1986 to May 1987 functioned as the Site Manager for the F/FB-111 TPS development program in Hunt Valley, Maryland. Provided an interface for status and scheduling to the customer. Developed and implemented new information reporting systems which eliminated customer confusion and increased customer confidence.

Supervised the Hunt Valley office, Hunt Valley, Maryland. Duties included the observation and assessment of on site development and integration activities of the F/FB-111 AIS “R” Program. Provided analysis and recommendations, designed and executed various testing activities for the customer (United States Air Force). Verified compliance on behalf of the customer for the resolution of deficiencies discovered during testing.

Participated in the construction, integration and debugging of the “Pave Mint”, ALQ172V (1) update of the ALQ117 Electronic Countermeasures System. Additionally designed and constructed the unique test equipment needed to verify the capabilities of the updated system.

Responsible for troubleshooting, testing and repairing Avionics Systems installed in FB-111 aircraft, and of the associated “I” level maintenance equipment; disciplines included RF, Analog and Digital studies; devised new test procedures which shortened repair time and increased product reliability.
