K-12 Accreditation Planning and Preparation

Serve as a Program Development Consultant to develop a newly approved Educational Management Organization with the primary mission to recover Arizona high school dropouts, return them to school, and assist in their completing high school. Program was approved through legislation in 2012, as was publically funded beginning fall 2013. Program current has over 800 active enrollments. Brought on full-time in January 2015. Program is primarily a competency-based program, driven by individualized learning plans and instruction. Using Response to Intervention techniques, each student’s educational program is adjusted based on individual need and ability. Responsible for oversight of instructional procedures and staff. Manage the student management system and the learning management system to support online instructional processes. Manage College and Career Readiness. Responsible for collection of recurring data to review student pace, progress, and performance. Program uses the Edgenuity (e2020) learning management system. Responsible for development of new teacher orientation, training, and mentoring. Develop additional ongoing professional development and training opportunities for all company staff.

Online instructor for grade 6-12 taking online courses through EdOptions Academy, a private virtual school.

Responsible for Implementation Training for teachers and staff using Edmentum's Study Island online K-12 assessment, instruction, reporting, and practice objective-based education program. Sessions run from 90 minute and 3-hour virtual sessions to half-day and full-day on-site training sessions.

Oversight and development of the educational operations for a state-funded dropout recovery program. Program serves 16 to 22 year old students who are returning to high school to complete their graduation requirements. Content is delivered through a blended learning format, both campus-based and virtually through the web.

Oversight of grade 7-12 blended computer-based online instruction lab. Students earn core and elective credits toward middle school promotion and high school completion. Assisted in the development of brick & mortar blended learning methodology, lab procedures, and policies. Assisting in the development of the district grade 7 through 12 alternative secondary school and district online virtual school. Consultant and District liaison for Drop Prevention and Recovery Group, LLC on the development of a Dropout Recovery Program network in Arizona. Currently using the Edgenuity (e2020) content delivery system.

Oversee the development, implementation, and daily operations of a public online virtual high school (Arizona Online Instruction (AOI) Program). Oversee overall educational program implementation adjustments related to ongoing program assessment. Act as mentor to school site administrator and liaison between both schools and the Foundation Board. Develop affiliations with other public school entities seeking virtual school services. Consult on virtual and hybrid school development and development of application to become an approved virtual school provider in Arizona. Oversee staff recruitment and training for both programs. Research current best-practices in each delivery paradigm and provide professional development services and guidance as required. Coordinate the development of extended credit options for each school including, vocational education, dual credit, school-to-work, service learning, internships, and apprenticeships. Act as the primary liaison between the schools, the school Board, and the Foundation Board. Seek out and establish community relationships intended to enhance the learning experience of students and provide a smoother transition to post-secondary school, work, and vocational school opportunities. Direct the development of instructional methodologies particular to online hybrid and virtual delivery models. Oversee development of data collection framework and methods. Conduct data analysis and provided documentation of findings.

Assisted clients in gaining the maximum implementation benefits of web-based learning options including in-schedule, extended schedule, extended campus and extended school year. Provided direct support and management of the expansion of these services world-wide.
