With over 30 years of experience in electronics, I have seen and had to adapt to the many changes in the industry. In the beginning, I was able to develop my troubleshooting skills as a technician who was responsible for analyzing problems to the chip level. The logic of problem solving is something that I use to this day. I took these skills with me as I moved on to the area of Field Service where it was no longer necessary to troubleshoot to the chip level but good technique allowed for quick and precise analysis of customer problems to the sub-assembly level. At the same time I was able to develop my people skills while working in the field and on the phone with customers. These skills were expanded further when I became a Field Service Manager and was required to supervise employees in multiple offices. Many of the products that I was working on at this time required knowledge of the PC and Mac as well as an ability to install and configure software on these platforms. This experience transferred with me as I moved into the area of Quality Assurance. Years of field service experience allows me to more accurately envision the customer experience with the products I am testing and of course I still have that troubleshooting experience that I started with to help me analyze and document problems quickly and concisely.
