Dale Vieregge is a strategy and communications leader with 15+ years of experience advising senior-level clients, managing multi-disciplinary teams, directing the design and implementation of communications programs and advocacy campaigns, and leveraging research, testing, and analytics to define strategy, optimize tactics, and improve performance.Dale has been based in Japan since 2018, following 3 years in APCO’s Washington, DC headquarters. In his client-facing role, he helps negotiate the various challenges associated with working across levels, cultures, time zones, and other dimensions of difference in international business. He also serves on the management team of APCO’s Tokyo office, as an advisor to APCO’s new Asia chairman, and as the region’s learning and development lead.Previously, Dale co-led the digital strategy practice group in APCO’s headquarters office and was on the management teams for the Washington, DC office and for the North America region. He was also the architect of APCO’s Consumer of the Future offering, crafting issue- and values-based consumer PR strategies for major corporate brands, including Honda, Ikea, Johnson & Johnson, McDonald's, and Suntory. His related, pre-COVID insights about the Employer of the Future anticipated a future in which all talent--not just young talent--is demanding more flexibility on nearly every dimension.In his free time, Dale is an avid reader of fiction, especially novels by Colson Whitehead, Mieko Kawakami, and Brit Bennet. He is also studying for both French and Japanese language exams.
